Anyone that placed an order for a new Colt 1911 WW1 replica thru his dealer.
How long did you have to wait for the gun to get to your dealer from Colt.?

Most of the major manufacturers do not sell direct to dealers so your wait will depend on what wholesalers your dealer does business with and how soon they will get your gun in stock. When I was in the business Colt was one of the items that were always slow to get to the wholesalers and then were picked up quickly by dealers. Hard to get items tend to go to dealers that have the largest volume of business with each wholesaler first.

To answer your question...
Your wait time will depend on your dealer, how well he gets along with his sales reps, how many wholesalers he deals with and how available the gun you are looking for is.

Mine took a day.

TIMC is correct. Colt does not sell to dealers, so any dealer who tells you he's waiting for Colt is jerking your string. Colt sells to distributors, and the distributors sell to dealers. One distributor might be sold out, another may have a shelf full. If your dealer is too lazy to call a second distrubutor if the first one doesn't have it in stock, he's an idiot. That's a great way to throw away a thousand dollar sale.
