TireFryer, beautiful "rock". Great Pic. Congrats!
Which model RIA 1911 is that?

it is an RIA 1911-A1 model
just got done with my CPL class past sat and by the end of the range session, and about a hundred rds, I was beginning to get an appreciation of how well it's built, granted it's not a $1500+ Les Baer, Nighthawk, Wilson Combat, but for a first 1911, I am hooked!
Bonus is being able to plink with the Ciener .22LR conversion kit, which to my surprise, is way more accurate than I had thought it would be, and keeps getting better and more consistent with more practice and range time... a worthwhile investment!

How does the Ciener conversion kit work? Does it work well with Federal bulk ammo?

Thanks.

I have a ciener .22 kit and it works well with any hivelocity or hypervelocity ammo (velocaraptors, or something)

Shoots amazing, though single shot, groups with wolf std velocity.

It did NOT like Federal Champion .22LR at all... 3FTE, 4FTL out of a magazine of 10rds! Shot all over the place. I will never go back to the Federal Champion...I ended up giving it to my friend who loves shooting it with his .22 rifle. I use Remington Tunderbolt, and out of about 300rds, no FTL, FTE, FTF...and nice groups :) installing it is as simple as remove bushing from 1911, remove slide lock, pull of the .45 slide, put on the .22LR slide, install slide lock, slam in the .22LR magazine, SHOOT!
