SIG, Keltec, Kahr, and the various 1911's.
I was at the fun shop yesterday and saw a used Taurus single stack 9mm whose model I do not recall, but know that it is no longer in current production. I would like to know what are my options. Thanks.

The new Skyy guns are out....there was a guy on here trying to trade 2 of them for I think, one Glock.
Not sure if they are worth a darn, but they are available.
A close second for you to look at would be the Makarov. Great quality gun for the money.

I second Dollar An Hour's advice, Smith's auto's are under-rated in my opinion. My 908 has served well, I've heard good things on the 910 as well as the Smith's mentioned in the previous post.

Beretta still produces single column 9mm pistols based on the 92 design.

SMITH AND WESSON of course! Though I don't have one, out of my price range, the 3913 is a super carry gun.

The new Keltec PF-9 will be a single stack... The STI LS-9,while still a 1911 style it is a scaled down version.

If you can find one at a decent price, the SIG P225 is probably one of the finest single stack 9mm pistols ever made. I love mine and so does my wife... she stole it!
Fine by me...
Blessings!

I've always considered the S&W 39XX series to be the most underrated single column 9mm pistols produced. Period.
Especially the 3913/14, and it's later compact cousins the NL, LS, 908 & TSW's.
My brother has long felt the same way about the P7. Enough so that he's owned 3 of them, from oldest to the newest.
Nowadays he owns an example of the late-production 3913 series ... and is very, very pleased with its reliability, weight, compactness and accuracy.
His P7's? He doesn't own them any longer. That surprised me at the time ...

Definitely the Smith & Wesson 3913TSW ...

... is the finest compact (not sub-compact or mid-size or full-size) single-stack 9mm on the market.

He asked what single stack nine is still being made. I don't think Sig still maeks the P225 and if they do its no longer imported to the U.S. and has been repalced by the Sig P239 which is another single stack nine.
BTW, I like the P225 better than the P239 but both are fine choices.

Nope I read on the Beretta Forum that Beretta is no longer producing any of the compact versions of the 92 as well as the Inox versions. I just checked Beretta's website and no 92M (Single stack 92) or 92L (Double Stack shortned slide and grip) are listed.

I have to 2nd...er..5th S&W 39 series. I have had my 3914 for 10+ years, it's the best, most accurate 9mm carry gun I have ever owned or shot. Very under recognized IMHO. An older M39 is on my short list.

The P225 is still in production, it is just no longer being imported to the states, as has been stated by others in this thread. That aside, I would consider the availability still good as NIB P225s can still be found frequently.
I picked up mine NIB after they discontinued importation a few years ago.
Nothing like splitting hairs.
Blessings!
