just got a Rock Island 1911 in 38 super and need some work done on it.
I would like a new beavertail safety grip and hammer for starters.
Anybody know where I can get some help on this. Im within a few miles of Dayton , Ohio
I know about Gander Mountian and Olde English but those fees are pretty steep for me.

Try Bryon LaRichie, his specialty is 1911 pistols, and he is in Dayton. He has worked on several of mine and I am real happy. Tell him Tim sent you.
His phone number is 937-277-5889.

If it's a compact, put in an Ed Brown guide rod and spring from Brownell's. DIY if you can field-strip it. And while you're at it smooth all those sharp egdes around the link. Blood ruins a finish very quickly!.
