Indeed. It's time we stopped claiming it was a straw purchase; it was a gift, and perfectly legal. Sure, it's fun to call her on buying a "sniper rifle" but let's leave to falsehoods to the anti side.

What is a "straw purchase"?

Buying a gun when you are not the intended end user of the gun.

Straw purchasers sometimes use the method to get around paperwork and laws.

Purchasing for gift purposes is ok as long as you are sure the recipient of the gift is legally able to take posession of the gun.

So where is the media and the authorities on Penn’s lack of “safe storage” of his firearms? Remember the kids who were murdered by a pitchfork weilding maniac who were unable to defend themselves because mom and dad followed the “safe storage” laws. Those were, of course, “acceptable losses” to the gun-control advocates.
