I just bought a new super blackhawk .44 mag and the front of the cylinder has the last 3 digits of the serial #. It states in the owner's manual that only guns with extra cylinders have the serial # on the cylinder. Do you guys think this means anything or are they starting to # all cylinders?

I don't know why Ruger puts the last 3 digits of the gun's serial number on their Super Blackhawks but it's not just lately they've been doing it. My wife's 10 or 12 year old Super Blackhawk cylinder has the 3 digits on it. However, I have a 4 or 5 year old Blackhawk 45 Colt (not a convertible) without the 3 digits on the cylinder. Is it possible in the owner's manual Ruger is only talking about the convertible Blackhawks when they said the last 3 digits of the guns serial number are stamped on both cylinders? Maybe the Super Blackhawks are all marked like that anyway.
