Finally got a nice day to go out shooting. The wife and I went to the range so I could check out some loads I worked up for my CMP M1 Garand. Its a Springfield Armory Service Grade......second trip out for it.

The loads I was using were Hornady 168gr BTHP, Remington cases, CCI LR Primers and IMR-4064.

Rifle functioned flawlessly.........

Besy groupings came with 47.5gr of 4064. I had downloaded some SR-1 200 yard reduced for 100 yard targets from www.uspalma.com for this trip. All shots, with the exception of two flyers were inside the ten-ring at 100 yards, shot off the bench with a rest.

The load using 47.0 didn't look bad either.......guess it calls for another range trip and figure out which it likes best.

I also shot some 150 FMJ-BT that I tested last time out.....and the rifle still loves them too. Going to be hard to decide on loading either the 150s or the 168s.

Were those from Hornady by any chance? I have been using those recently with good results - they have replaced the more expensive 168's! Also encouraging results so far in my M1A.

Yes, they are the Hornady 150 FMJ-BT's........I just loaded up 100 rounds last night for my next range trip.

I hope to get around reloading some more of the 168's.....I've got two decent loads to work with.

I know my M1 likes the 150's......kinda glad since they are cheaper.......good news, cause I plan on shooting alot!!
