Has anyone heard from Manyirons?

May 15, 2006, 08:24 PM
Just what the title said; has anyone heard from Thom/Manyirons? I've not been able to get in touch with him for a few days (I think since Friday) and I need to talk to him.

Hopefully someone knows what's up.

I PMed him about the possibility of getting his German gunsmith friend to do some work on my Old Army, but haven't gotten a reply. PM was sent yesterday, I think. Probably out somewhere shootin'. Can't expect him to live on his computer like the rest of us do. ROFL!:D

I'm proud of myself, though. Did a range trip today. Been a couple of weeks.

Normally, I'd agree; but I've been hearing from both him and Jule (the smith) one or more times a day.

I'm getting a bit concerned.

May 15, 2006, 09:16 PM
Mmm, now you got me worryin' a little. :uhoh:

May 15, 2006, 09:39 PM
Yep... Jule's health, Thom's health, along with some reports of tornados in Ohio, I'm worried.

May 16, 2006, 03:31 AM
I have been trying to contact him since the weekend and have had no replies to my PM's or an e.mail I sent to his address. I spoke to Jule on Friday for about an hour and then nothing since! It's most unlike Thom not to reply almost before my PM is sent!!
I am very concerned indeed.

May 16, 2006, 08:25 AM
I'll be trying to call again in a few minutes; I'll post what happens.

May 16, 2006, 08:36 AM
Jule is okay, but ill. Influenza! He worked too hard.

May 16, 2006, 08:38 AM
Any news of Thom though?

He's okay too, they're both under the weather I guess!! :(

It's what happens when you try to work a 140 hour week...

Got a brief PM from Thom, Manyirons is a tad rusted, but oiling, have,nt heard anything new about Jule, though, but it would be a brave bug that tackled him!Get well soon , you two!

Thom/Manyirons and Jule (the smith).

You are missed. Get well soon.

Our prayers are with you.

Jule replied to my PM. I reckon I'll give 'em a chance to heal and give me a chance to get some money before I send 'em my Old Army. :D I'm finally going to get that stupid front sight raised so I don't have to take such a weird sight picture. It shoots so high, I have to hold the blade at the bottom of the rear sight and aim as if it was at the top, if that makes any sense. LOL I'm going to get the cylinders bored for max hog killin' power while I'm at it. If I'm going to have to hold off a big hog after I pop him once with my .50, I want all the juice I can get out of it. LOL

Sounds like you two (Thom and Jule) need to stop working so hard. It may seem like working round the clock would save time, but in the end, it really doesn't. You either get sick, shorten your life, or both.

May 17, 2006, 03:55 PM
I called Jule today; no answer. He wasn't sounding so good yesterday, so hopefully he's resting up and getting better, not out and about.

I hope they ain't got what me and the wife had a week or so ago. If they do, they won't be gettin' too far from the commode. Between the pukin' and the, well, the other, I got dehydrated. I sipped a little water here and there and got back normal after a while. I had something similar once before and got so weak from the dehydration I had to get hauled to the emergency room for an IV of normal saline. Ain't much feels much worse, I can tell ya that!

Get well soon, guys.

I hope they heal up good. I guess we'll hear from them in what...two weeks right? Isn't that a fortnight? Either way...Godspeed fellas, heal as fast as your bullet flies! :what:

May 19, 2006, 12:30 PM
Within two weeks or so... kind of like how we say "in a couple of weeks". :)

Right on...hey Third...I'm thinking on buying a Ruger Old Army from the seventies, you know anything about them, especially the ones they first produced? Try to get back to me before a fortnight :D

May 20, 2006, 11:10 AM
last I knew, a fortnight was 10 days. but I don't think she meant it literally

May 20, 2006, 11:18 AM
This (http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/fortnight) says otherwise. ;)

She most certainly didn't mean it literally. It's just better than saying "soon" and having people wonder what it meant. :)

Last time I checked a fortnight was like French tea, twoweak(s)! Anyroadup, my weeks are 7 day ones cos the wife says so!

May 20, 2006, 12:56 PM
We know you actually count the time by the bottle. :D

A longer period of time, naturally, is a cask, right?

May 20, 2006, 05:53 PM
Blast, another secret out :banghead: !
Anyway, you have to start with tanks (stainless steel or concrete) and before you ask NO they do not tread the grapes here!!!

May 21, 2006, 11:46 AM
Duncan, you be correct. For some reason I had it down as ten days in my mind, not sure where that came from.
