Mossberg 835 replacement stock?

I got my 835 out of the case yesterday and saw that the stock was cracked. Im not sure what type of stock to get I looked at the the regular stock, a stock with a pistol grip or a thumb hole stock. Has any one used a shotgun stock with a thumb hole? I mostly use this gun for turkeys. I would appritiate any ideas or suggestions.

Get the standard stock, much more versatile.

Not to disagree with Dave but for turkey hunting a pistol-gripped shotgun is the right choice. It allows for a much more comfortable hold during the long and tedious waiting process, where a standard stock has your wrist bent over the top.

Take a look at the SpecOps Stock (http://www.knoxx.com/NewStyleKnoxx/Products/SpecOpsStock.html) that also cuts recoil. The NRS version is the same stock without the recoil-reduction system and about half the price.

CaCrusin: Do you have a specops stock? It looks pretty nice. I like the reduced recoil option. I was wondering if the length adjustment stays set pretty good or if it would move back and forth if you bumped the lever or what ever lets you adjust it. Is it noisey? I would think that because it adjusts that there might be some unwanted movement that might rattle. If its solid and makes no noise this is the way I think I will go. Thanks for the help.

The SpecOps Stock adjusts for length of pull in exactly the same way an M-4 version M16 does. It is positive and once set, stays in that position until you intentionally change it. There is no noise from the stock. There is some movement of the stock when the shotgun is fired but it doesn't affect your ability to get back on target negatively. Check out the videos on the web site to better understand how it works.

I have three SpecOps-equipped shotguns -- 2 870s and 1 Mossberg 590. I also have several rifles with Knoxx Rifle CompStock stocks on them; a .270 Win Mauser and a Winchester Model 70 in .375 H&H. I will be ordering a couple Howa 1500s in .308 to put in our new Axiom V/S stock. One for me and one for my kids to use.
