I stopped off at my favorite BP dealer in Winchester yesterday. They didn't have any available in the ready magazine, but the price was quite reasonable. I understand that the reenactors shoot it a lot,but is it a bad fouler like Elephant Powder was? Fouling doesn't matter as much when you're not shoving down a patched roundball.
I picked up a pound of Swiss to test against Goex-my usual rocklock fare.

Haven't tried any yet, but the fellows at the Club say it's just behind Swiss in performance...

Interesting. Did they mention if it shot cleaner than Goex? The dealer said that it was more popular as a reenactor powder due to its $10 per # price-$2.50 cheaper per pound than Goex.
I'd really like to get more shots with roundball in my Lyman GPR,which is why I picked up the pound of Swiss to test against my Goex standard.

Poodle-

I just finished my first pound of 2F KIK- velocities similar to GOEX, but a slightly higher extreme spread in my Great Plains. It appears that the grain size varies a little more, too. Fouling was similar. Priced @ $15/lb versus $18 for GOEX in my area.

I heard a rumor about "chinese-made powder" with very high velocities and a low price that a guy got from "someplace in Ohio or Indiana". Any idea what that might be?

I've heard that a lot of shooters in Australia shoot with Chinese powder because in some places that's all they can find. I don't remember that much about it except that the stuff they get comes from a fireworks powder factory and it comes bulk packaged. Their dealers may have to weigh it and put it into containers. They certainly don't think that it's as good as Goex or Swiss, and it's dirty.
It's for sale in New Zealand too:

The search function isn't working on the forum where I read about it, so I can't investigate further.
