I have an 870 with the extended tube. It only holds 6+1.... what gives?!
BTW, It's the factory extention tube.

Edit: Maybe this thread was a little pre-mature. After a brief review I think the 7 shot capacity might be right. For some reason I always thought it was 7+1. Sorry for the waste of bandwidth.

In the UK 10 hi-capacity tube magazines are available for Remington 870s and 1100s.

Just a thought for you here, and i know this may sound basic, but are you trying this with 3" or 2-3/4" shells? That little bit of difference will get you that one extra ( or less ) shell in the magazine.

The standard 870 magazine holds four rounds, with one in the chamber. So standard 870 capacity is 4+1=5.
Then you can start adding magazine extensions. There are 1, 2, and 3 shot extensions that are practical for serious use (there are longer ones too, but they tend to cause more than their fair share of problems). So total 870 capacity with magazine extensions can be 5+1, 6+1 or 7+1. And it can go up from there if you are willing to pay the inevitable penalties for weight, balance changes, increased complexity and reduced reliability.
