I'm getting the accessories ordered for my new sks, and the little woman has expressed an interest in shooting it. She's too small to hold it normally (5' 1/2" 98lbs) and I don't want to totally reconfigure it for her size (I'm 6'5" 240lbs).

The obvious answer to me would be to put a bipod on it and let her shoot it in the prone position. But my SKS has a synthetic stock, so my usuall preference for a good harris pod probably won't work. nor will my buddy's usual versapod (unless there's some adapter that I don't know about)

I've seen the bayonette replacement bipods and was wondering are they junk? usefull? what about all those clampon bipods people seem to be selling? do they mess up the finish on the gun?

even if she doesn't like shooting it, I still would like to have a way of setting it down when I'm out shooting without laying it in the dirt or up against something where it can fall.

I know that bipods that go on the barrel throw the grouping off, but I don't know of any other choice.

any sugestions?

Buy another SKS (preferably one with a beat up stock) and cut the stock to fit her...

I know, I know, you wanted real advice. I've got no experience with SKS bipods, and I just really wanted to share... ;)

I've been doing that to other weapons for her, however, I don't want to have to buy two of everything, one of which I can't shoot.

My choate stocked sks has an outers (harris copy) bipod mounted to the front sling stud. Doesn't your synthetic stock have the stud. My rifle looks alot like this one in this thread: http://www.sksboards.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=63&highlight= Mark
