I did it,I replaced my well worn Model 12 today, new carry gun is a Glock 17 with the standard cap. Mags I bought a spare to round out my total ammo carry load to 51 rounds (52 with one carried in the chamber).

Congrats on the new pistol! I've learned over the years to really appreciate the 9mm Glocks...I have a 19 myself. I would have gotten the 17 but since the standard cap mags are far too dangerous to own, I got the 19 for its more compact size a (IMHO) better handling ;)
Congrats again

Thanks.
One thing that got me hooked was the Rep. the Glock has,and the ammount of ammo the Mags hold.
It struck me that if for some reason the S. hit the F. and I was caught out with what I had at the time (Yes the function was fine, and the cal. works pretty good) I would have been in it deep if I found myself in a situation that called for more than the 18 rounds I had on hand.
Plus being able to carry a full box of 9mm ammo plus two rounds did make me take a look at the pro side of carrying a Semi-auto,and the re-loads are way quicker. :D
