Just a note for those contemplating purchasing one of these. I bought one about two weeks ago to use as a low priced, plinking, leave-it-hidden-upstairs for home defense purposes. Plus it had been awhile since I had a new gun. You know how it is. Anyway, the good news is that as far as quality construction goes, Tanfoglio did a nice job with these. Nicely finished inside and out and felt very nice in the hand. Had a nice trigger. Initially, I thought I had the buy of a lifetime. Cost around $350. But. It shot low, real low. Four inches low at 7 yards and about ten to twelve inches low at 18 yards (the distance I normally plink). Shot low with 230 grain FMJ and with 230 grain factory HP's. That means that in order to hit a can (or at least scare it) you couldn't see the can when you were shooting - you had to hold way over the target. I read in a forum that EAA sold taller sights so I told them what I had and they sent me a taller sight which I presume would fit some of the guns they sell but doesn't fit any of their 2006 models. From the catalog EAA sent me with the unusable sight, it appeared I would have to go with an adjustable sight if I wanted to hit what I was aiming at. This was beginning to no longer be a good deal. Another expensive lesson learned. I traded it in on a Glock 30 which shoots to point of aim and is so accurate for a small gun that I suspect voodoo went into the barrel construction. Anyway, just a caution for those contemplating a similar Witness purchase.
