.... or just tried and true old recipes? Especially interested in those using Hornady 120gr. single shot pistol (#2811) or Sierra's 130 gr. single shot pistol (#7250)
TIA! Don

I shot a bunch of the 130 Speers in a 12" TC Custom Shop gun I owned for awhile, but I used a surplus powder that is no longer available for most of the shooting.
With 140 grain bullets, it really liked 25.0 grains of H4895 or AA2460. I've tried 2460 in that barrel in a 6.5 TCU barrel I have and it has worked great in both of them (favorite load in 6.5 TCU is 129 Hornady SP with 24.5 grains AA2460).

I've got a love hate relationship with the 7mm TCU. The only way I can get cases that last through several loadings is by annealing and then fire forming using about an 80% load (real PITA!).
But cases are dirt cheap, and the 7mmTCU wacks cinder blocks at 300 yds with considerable authority and regularity using just iron sights.
357Man, I've used H4895 (which worked pretty good) but not AA2460 as yet.
I used the H4895 with heavier bullets. Wondering if a faster powder might work better for bullets in the 100-130 gr. range?

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this, I misplaced the thread info!
Faster powders for 100 to 130 grain bullets? Sure, I can think several. A lot of shooters swear by AA2015. There are two Vihtuvouri powders that should be winners as well - N-130 and n-133.
I have both, but have never tired either of them in 7TCU.
Interestingly, just this past weekend, I was looking in my reloading storage closet and found about 500 7mm bullets, most of them 150 Sierra Matchkings. I don't have a 7TCU barrel anymore! Oh, well, it looks like I'll just have to bite the bullet and pick up another one - you've got me interested again in fooling with it myself.

357Man, thanks for the recommendations. I've loaded fairly mild loads of 21.0 gr. IMR-4198 for fire forming with the Hornady 120 gr. SSP #2811.
I'm trying to find some Vihta N-133.
I can borrow some AA2015 and have some AA1680.
Did Hornady discontinue the #2811 7mm SSP?
I can't find them any more!

I don't know about the Hornady bullet; you might check out Hornady's website and see if it is still listed.
VN-133 and AA2015 are really close, about .5 of a grain difference in powder charges between the two, with 2015 being the faster one.
N-130 is faster than either of those two; Vihtuvouri claims it is almost as fast as 1680, but it doesn't seem quite like that in the applications I've used it.
