After failing to find an online manual, I attempted to take this rifle apart against my better judgment. I took it apart all the way down to the barrel, and failed to figure out how to get it broken down further. I then put it back together or so I thought.

First, the picture labeled "1" contains a photo of a piece that fell on the floor. I am fairly certain that the part was located someone in picture 3.

Second, I really wanted to break this rifle down further, because I know that it has a lot of gunk in there somewhere. Only the barrel has ever been cleaned as far as I know. Any suggestions?

Third, I cannot get the safety to move to the fire position. I used break free to try and loosen it up but to no avail. Is there a trick to getting this to slide over? (Picture 2)

The digital camera is malfunctioning due to it being a cheap POS, so I was forced to use my webcam. I took random pictures of parts, in hopes that someone is familiar with this weapon who can also guide me via the pictures.

I can take more per request, but they will all be of the ****ty quality like the ones below.

Alright, I snapped off a slot of a screw that holds in this metal retainer strip under the charging handle. I don't know what to do now. I have tried googling for an online manual or a manual to order. I also don't know where to find a replacement screw, as it is an unusual one with a built in washer about midway on the screw. Does anyone know where I could find a replacement screw for this gun and/or a manual to help me take it apart? I hope someone still has this type of screw in stock even though it's about 55 years old...

Edit: I found this guide, but I don't know how trustworthy it is... For seven dollars, I guess I don't have much to lose, though I still need a place to get that replacement screw.

What do you guys think about this? http://www.chartingnature.com/books.cfm?book=B12084

this one is listed as a 74-22, I don't know if its the same or not. trouble is that there is no schematic with the page so you would have to know what your part is called. I suggest you contact Numrich directly and explain the part you need.
