Witness said he had loaded the car with suspected illegals just prior to the eluding/shooting incident. They (news reporter) said the passengers had been arrested and were being questioned. That is how we need to deal with the illegals (as the criminals they are).
But you watch. Someone is going to make this a race issue before the night is through.
I am soo frustrated with the way our govt. capitulates with Mexico on this issue. How many ways can we say "Shut the border down already!"
So, what is the real reason that the President is Demming out on this issue? Why are they subverting the Minutemen and helping clear the way for more illegals crossing. To me, this is clearly a dereliction of duty. :fire: I say oil and cheap labor are the driving forces. Anyone else think otherwise?
Sorry. :banghead: fed up and had to rant. :cuss: Rant over.

Shooting closes border crossing
Thursday, May 18, 2006; Posted: 9:30 p.m. EDT (01:30 GMT)
SAN DIEGO, California (AP) -- Authorities shut down a busy U.S-Mexico border crossing Thursday after U.S. authorities shot and killed the driver of a car headed for Mexico, officials said.
The shooting occurred on southbound Interstate 5 around 3:30 p.m. about 50 feet north of the San Ysidro Port of Entry, the world's busiest border crossing, which links Tijuana, Mexico, with San Diego.
The driver, who not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, said Maurice Luque, a spokesman for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials were trying to stop a black SUV that was under surveillance for suspected immigrant smuggling.
A motorist said that a federal agent rapped on the vehicle's window with his baton, but the driver accelerated and the agent opened fire.
Anna Valderrama, of Tijuana, who was about four vehicles back when the shooting occurred, said she counted four passengers in the vehicle. There were no immediate reports of any other injuries.
The black Dodge Durango sat in the middle of the road with a shattered driver's side window.
The California Highway Patrol sealed off southbound access to the border and rush-hour traffic backed up more than a mile.

California Border Crossing Closed After Fatal Police Shooting
Friday, May 19, 2006
SAN DIEGO — A busy U.S-Mexico border crossing was shut down Thursday after U.S. authorities shot and killed the driver of a car headed for Mexico, officials said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents began following a black SUV after a citizen reported seeing the vehicle pick up suspected illegal immigrants near the U.S. side of the border, police said.
As traffic backed up near the border, the vehicle stopped on the shoulder. When agents approached, the suspect began to drive off, said police Lt. Kevin Rooney. Two agents then opened fire.
Five passengers in the vehicle, whose identities were not released, were taken into custody and were being interrogated, Rooney said.
The black Dodge Durango sat in the middle of the road late Thursday with a shattered driver's side window. The California Highway Patrol sealed off southbound access to the border and rush-hour traffic was backed up over a mile. Police redirected drivers to a nearby crossing.
Anna Valderrama, of Tijuana, who was about four vehicles back when the shooting occurred, said she regularly crosses the border and had never seen any such a disturbance.
"I was going to eat with my family," said Valderrama, stuck in her car for over two hours. "I feel desperate to go home."

Perhaps they should focus a little more on the NORTH-BOUND side of that highway.

It don't much matter to me which direction a coyote is going when he gets greased. He won't be aiding in the invasion of the USA anymore.

I guess its ok for us to shoot our own citizens to set an example for the others who would flagerently violate the law in open defiance of sovereign authority.
god forbid we shot someone headed the other way.
Does this establish precedent for opening fire if they run?
