I stopped by my one-and-only gun shop early this week on my lunch hour just to kick the tires and look around, and chat with the fun and knowledgeable buys at Byford's Gun. For years I have stumbled into some nice S&W revolvers there, usually blued steel and wood (my favorite type of handgun).

So while driving back to work I talked by cell phone with my better half, and told her where I had eaten plus I mentioned that I had stopped by the gun store. I said something about "being a good boy" because I didn't leave with anything. (We're going on a Norwegian Cruise Line cruise to Alaska in August)

Well, she went by there the next day and asked them what I had been looking at. Chad said that I had been showing interest in the XD-45 4" pistol. Joe recalled that I paid some attention to a new S&W 4" Model 57 .41 Magnum Mountain Gun but I didn't like the grips. They called Jeff, who was off that day, and he agreed that I was 'interested' in the XD-45.

So she bought both. :what:

She brought them to me at work Wednesday, and said that I should return either one if I was not truly excited about them. Today she and I went out to lunch together and while out we stopped back at Byford's. I turned back in the Model 57 and swapped for a new Glock 29.

I've been shooting my friends G29 for a few months now and knew that someday I had to have one myself. I just didn't know that it would be sooner than later! Now I have crossed over to the dark side and I cannot be happier.

Not because of the two new guns, but once again I know that I am married to a truly wonderful woman! :D

XD-45 is a nice piece of tool from S&W, tested and proven like my HK P2000.
Im looking for a Sig Pro 2022 to add up into my collection, if known, how do you rate this stuff:)

Great,now maybe Byfords will keep some 10mm ammo in stock. Cant complain though. I ordered 300rds from Georgia Arms and had it on my doorstep the next day. Was like 80.00 including shipping and it shoots great in my G20.

I agree - that's awesome. It seems all we hear is the negative stuff about wives, which is why I've avoided picking one up. Good to hear they have a good side.
