Saw that AIM has these back in stock. Does anybody have any experience with these? I'm looking for a bolt action to get some iron site practice with and use as a utility rifle. As always, any input would be appreciated.

Russian hunting rifles tend to be a bit utilitarian in appearance but they are generally reliable and fairly accurate.

Don't lose the magazines, they are hard to replace.

I own a Tula Toz78 -4 and it absolutely rocks! The trigger is user adjustable which made for one of the nicest pulls I've ever encountered. The accuracy is just plain amazing! I've made head shots on finch at 100 yds! I did modify the bolt handle on mine as the standard knob is really small. My modification amounts to some two part epoxy molded around the knob to enlarge it. Although it is admittedly an inexpensive rifle, the important points are covered. The bolt cycles smoother than the much coveted CZ's, the barrel is well made and free floated. And the stock is proportioned more for a grown man than a child which is often the case with .22LR bolt actions. I liked the fact that the bolt can be taken apart without tools and that the rear sight has a rotary leaf design in 25yd increments. I didn't like the original sling swivels however they were easy to replace. The forend tip is just dark stain not inletted and the checkering is not even. Also heed Onmilos warning, the magazines are impossible to find. I lost one of my 10 rounders and I'm seriously upset about it. This rifle is one of few reasons I wish I lived in Europe since it is sold as a kit there complete with suppresor and case!
