Please, do give the backstory on that one.

I will keep it short.had to get one of my troopers out of the detox in berlin.we had a day to kill so we went over to east berlin through check point charlie.
you have to get a brief before going over to the evil side.they told us we couldn't take pics of anything with the DDR on it.so got a quick shot with the solider.he is guarding the internal flame on the memorial for all the soldiers killed to take berlin from the germans in WWII.
found the pic today just thought I would share as I know y'all are into the sks rifles.

my east german 91/30 has light wood also ??

Those East German SKSes do have beautiful wood. Along with the N.Korean varients, they are the holy grail for SKS collectors.
