I have a Sig P220 and wish to carry IWB "tucked" for CCW. I'm not stuck on leather or plastic or whatever so feel free to suggest what ever works for you. Thanks folks!

You might want to check out the C-TAC kydex holster. It handles a 220 quite well, although I did find a bit of "scoot guard" on the inside helped it stay in place better.

I find "tuckable" to better in theory than in practice. However,...

I have 2 from Tucker Gunleather http://www.tuckergunleather.com(one for a snubbie revolver and one for a compact 1911). Both are the "Texas Heritage" which are leather with Kydex clips. I think that it is important to have 2 points of attachment spread apart inorder to keep the holster from tilting, especially when it is tucked. I've heard some have trouble with the Kydex clips breaking. I haven't. I use a regular clip in front and a J-hook or C-hook in back. On the front clip I have attached the belt carry clip for my BlackBerry (could be a cell phone, PDA, pager, Ipod, etc.) and that helps conceal and camo the whole deal.

My waistline has recently expanded to fill the space my IWB held ;) so I have been experimenting with way to conceal an OWB better.

I have to agree with Henry. I've tried several tuckable IWB holsters. The latest was a CTAC for a G26. It just doesn't sit right on me. I wear relax fit Levi's 550s and no matter what location on my hip I put the holster and G26, it looks to me like there is a very noticable bulge there. Plus it was just never comfortable. The CTAC did support the G26 better then others I've tried

I'll still use it for certain modes of dress, but for me I've given up on IWB and moved specifically to pocket carry. A nice J frame or Kahr PM9 disapears very easily.

If the pants have the room, I've found IWB to be comfortable without any problem (except some minor irritation when against bare skin). When my shirt is "tucked" in over the IWB holster, I get the feeling that I am carrying in "deep cover" rather than "concealed." In other words, draw time is slowed to be on par with other deep cover methods like belly band or the Kramer Confidant (undershirt with under-arm elastic pockets for gun/mags).

It's all give and take. If I can shed 10-15 lbs., IWB tucked will be a lot more comfortable (I'm not buying bigger pants!).

I have been looking at IWB holsters and read many good reviews about the Milt Sparks VersaMax-II. I would like to have the option of tucking for certain circumstance and was wondering if anyone has experience with the Kydex clips available with the VM-II. Other than this, is the next best option a C-TAC? Any other tuckable suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The VM-II is probably the best example of this style in leather, and the C-Tac, for lack of a better illustration, is the same holster in kydex. I have both. I carry the C-Tac regularly.

Rockrivr1, try this modification for your CTAC: http://pershot.com/blog/?postid=88 I believe it will solve your problems and allow you to carry whatever you want in a CTAC comfortably and well concealed. Its hard to imagine how this small mod can make such an improvement but it does. I have 2 CTAC holsters (fullsize USP, and little Bersa) and trust me, this mod is the key. Even my USP disappears. I also applied Moleskin Plus to the back of the holster and the rivets, not because I needed to but because I could, just to ensure the most comfortable carry. The CTAC is very versatile - take advantage of it.

I have three VMII's with one set of kydex loops. I have used it as a tuckable but feel that it prints too much for my tastes. If you want a tuckabe deep concealment rig then go with a Thunder holster. Thunder holsters are not really for everyone but I know a few people who use them daily and they swear by them.

Good in theory, difficult in practice.

I only bought one tuckable. It actually fits many of my guns. It is a Galco Skyops for around $60. Designed for the XD series, it also fits Glock, Beretta 92FS, 1911, and CZ pistols. Caution, the holster is nice but requires a thin dress belt.

I am 6'1", 190lbs, lean and muscular. I find that IWB is uncomfortable and makes my slacks look weird, like I have a huge tumor on my hip! The only comfortable guns I can IWB with is a thin 1911 or CZ. The others are just too thick.

Finally, going to the john is a real PITA. And it's not conducive to driving or sitting long periods of time.

Also try Blade-Tech's Ultimate Concealment Holster. It doesn't bulge as much as the CTAC does -- at least on my belt.

edited to add for leadcounsel: if the only IWB you have requires a thin dress belt, it is no wonder you find that it makes your clothes look weird and tumorish, or that it is uncomfortable. A good thick belt makes all the difference in the world!

Thanks for the information. I'm going to try that new configuration for my CTAC and see how it works.

Let me know how it goes. It completely resolved everything for me, so I want to see if it does the same for you.

The Galco SkyOps Holster sounds like it was "made" for Sky Marshals wearing tucked in shirts, and who knows....maybe it was.

I have used mine in a shirt and tie office environment and it works great. Never been "made" yet (so far).

It looks like good way to carry in the summer, when you only have a shirt, and want to tuck it in.i have a Sig 239 and i wonder if it will dig in when you sit down to drive?if it is worn in front it seems it might.has anyone worn this with a liked size gun while driving? thanks.

Try looking at the Milt Sparks holsters. I have several and they are comfortable.
