Old Fuff
May 23, 2006, 05:58 PM
The Old Fuff has fallen prey to a physical disability that in not uncommon among others in his age group. While this has sharply curtailed many of his regular activities it has not adversely affected his well-known wit (?) strong opinions (!) or general all around negative attitudes.

At the present time he can only stand or sit for short periods, after which his legs go numb. Typing is difficult because his hands and fingers have stiffened. Consequently while he often surfs The High Road his posts are fewer and shorter. Longer ones must be drafted over several “sitting sessions” using a word processor, and then cut & pasted to THR.

That’s the bad news. He is on medication, and slowly recovering. Over the long run the prognosis is encouraging. His many friends, divided between old mother hens and USMC Drill Instructors  are seeing to his needs. Like many other adversities in life he will survive this one.

Your concern is appreciated.

Take a hint from the Old Fuff and see a doctor about this now... rather then later like he did. The condition is unlikely to get better without treatment, and the sooner the better. There could be a number of causes, and most of them are potentially serious. Time is not on your side.

Get well soon, my friend...

AND, I owe you a plaque! That artwork you sent me was awesome! (See my thread in autoloaders.)

PM me with some kind of contact info, I don't care if it is some PO box in a neighboring town. I will send you a plaque (and I think you'll like it).

To: 1911 Tuner,
Hey you hoardin' fool,
Please send Old Fuff one of them Hand Ejectors you are hoarding.
He is sick, having to recover, and he can mess with it while slurping Chicken Noodle soup and getting cracker crumbs in the covers while sittin' up in bed.

Now dagnabbit,

Steve.

Do I get my Reprobate Cert now?

Through many PMs inquiring about the Old Fuff, my standard reply has been that the concerned parties should ask him, since I don't assume the liberty of divulging personal information...what little that I know. Never one to pry, I've only asked him to keep me posted if there's a turn for the worse...and let him know that he's in my prayers.

Steve,

If I could personally deliver my old Smith Hand Ejector Models to him at the entrance to the infamous Fuff Cave, and make his condition go away, I'd be on my way tomorrow.

I would love to take Tuner out to Ariz. and join Fuff in his cave.
Could spend several months in the darkness listening to them and never be bored.:D

True, but you might need police protection...

And besides, what do you think the REAL reason is that the government is sending the National Guard to the border...? :D

Lead 'em and bleed 'em
