I was wandering around Cabela's Online Gun Library while listening to Gun Talk this afternoon. A Winchester M54 Carbine caught my eye. It had a Redfield peep installed but, other than that, was pretty stock. The wood was good and the bluing even better. My son came over and said, "That looks like the Winchester 52." It did and that was probably why I liked it. Price was $750 which is up there. The rifle was a .30-06 and, although I like the caliber, that didn't fire me up. Now if it had been in .250-3000 I'd be e-mailing Cabela's not posting here.
Still it was a nice old rifle...
There were a lot of American, English, and European shotguns there too. Along with some lever Winchesters that looked slick. I wish the drillings they had listed had photos in the listings.
Cabela's Online Gun Library is a good place to spend some time on a rainy Sunday.
