I have heard of tech sights but are there better ones there?

And another "no"

Tech-sights are the way to go and worth the money. I can't think of one other aftermarket accessory that can improve the shootability (for lack of a better word) of a SKS better than a Tech-sight.

The design is very sturdy and does hold a zero after being removed to take down the rifle as long as you follow the original install instructions. Which are easy to follow.

Tech-Sights are my choice, but some like the Mojo also. http://www.mojosights.com/

By far the best set-up is the Tech-Sight in the rear and a Williams Fire-Sight in the front. Adds visibility and almost doubles the sight radius.

I considered the mojo but with my 52yo eyes I wasn't sure it would work for me. I hadn't seen the tech,so I bought the lyman peep . They make a base with the correct contour for the sks.It is a side mount. I did the drilling and tapping myself, wasn't easy because the rieciever is quite hard . I also had to notch the stock for clearance. This is the standard Lyman micrometer peep so once you get it mounted it is a fine tool .

I concur with the majority--Tech Sights are rad.

TechSights are the top of the heap in sight upgrades, but they make the gun more difficult to field strip. That isn't saying much in an SKS, which can normally be detailed stripped using only the cleaning rod.

The only modification required for the Tech Sight is to remove the take down pin from the rear receiver cover. I used a file. I also had to notch the stock a little since the Tech Sight needs a little more room below the hole that pin rides in.

My Yugo's stock sights could not be adjusted to get on target at 100 yards. They shot about 2 to 3 feet to the right. With the Tech Sights, I have enough adjustment to make that up without the sights be too far off center.

I've used the Williams peep sight which replaces the SKS rear sight and found it works just fine and for very minimal cost.
