Stag arms???? Review Wanted???

One of my buddies is making his AR from stag arms parts of of del-tone. I never heard anything about stag arms, and was wondering weather or not there parts were any good. I know you get what you pay for, so is it worth it (a bit less and a RRA of Busshy, considering the chrome-lined bbl)?

Stag Arms is top shelf stuff. The fact that it's inexpensive is a bonus.

I'm new to the world of ARs so I'm not the best source of info. I have a Noveske N4 lower receiver that is made by CMT ( (Stag) finish is superb. I have a lower kit from Stag as well the whole thing went together without a hitch.

I will be buying a CMT upper receiver as well. If it's good enough for Noveske ( it's good enough for me.

I'm not sure how it's possible to not have heard anything about Stag Arms, since the company advertises in every firearms venue possible and is pretty well-known for its Stag 15Ls made for left-handed folks ... Great value, good-fitting parts in my experience; I and a couple of buddies have put together ARs using Stag lowers with no problems and perfect reliability.

The company manufactures complete rifles (I've no experience with them) and the prices are pretty competitive. The latest G&A "Book of the AR-15" reviews both Stag's 6.8 SPC carbine and its "Lefty AR."

I'd bet there's plenty of reviews of Stag's parts and rifles on if you want to go slumming ...

I have a Stag Arms upper. Works fine, accuracy is great. I'm pleased with the fit and finish, one of the best bangs for your buck.

I have built 2 AR's on Stag lowers. No problems, everything fits perfectly, finish is great, and they function great. I have some Adventure Arms 20 round surplus mags that will not fit the mag well. The Stag is real tight. No problem for the Brownell's 20 rounders or any of the 30 rounders. They are priced right too!:D

Stag's parent company is CMT which is a casting/production company that makes the castings for many of the major companys. They are said to make some of colts stuff and all of the new S&W stuff. Major manufacturers are hesitant to admit they don't make the stuff they sell with their own name stamped on the side. I am unclear but apparently some mfgs do the finish machineing and finish work and some have CMT deliver finished parts complete with name stamps and they just assemble the parts. I have read that S&W even sends warantee guns back to STAG so my guess is the S&W units came from CMT/STAG completely assembeled .

So yes the Stag Guns/parts are very much top tier in the world of ARs

My gunsmith got a crate or two of cosmetic second lowers from Stag (his shop is in New Britain Ct ,Home of Stag) I looked through the box, couldn't find but a couple little marks in the whole box. My smith was selling them for $75 each out the door and many of them had front takedown pins and bolt stops installed. I messed up, I only bought one! This "second" has a better fit and finish that any of my Bushmasters .(I like the bushmasters just fine, the stag is just better)

i bought a left hand upper for my ladyfriend and initially it had extraction and ejection issues but after installing new gas rings and an extra power extractor spring the problem seems to have gone away. we'll see how it does after a few thousand rounds. it does appear to be very well made.
