I forget the name of the company, but there is a reciever cover that has a peep sight built into it, adjustable for windage and elevation. How the quality is or what you do with the existing ramp sight, I don't know.

Not ghost ring, but Williams makes a decent aperture sight to replace the original leaf sight. No modifications, and easily installed. Worth a look!

Try the MOJO. I had one on an Moisin Nagant and it worked pretty well.

I installed one on an SKS and it just didn't work for me. It replaced a small notched rear sight with a big circle rear sight. So where do I put the front sight in this big circle? I try to hold it in the center but there is just no precision and the front sight has no consistent location in this circle. For snap shots at short range, maybe it would be OK but not for real aimed fire.

Now, the same apeture circle at the normal, close to my eye, location would have been great. Which is why US military rifles have had apeture sights since the 1917 Remington.

Bart;

Although I agree that the aperature should be closer to the eye for best accuracy, it really works on the same principle. Just look through the circle, and the post is placed on the target. Use the same cheek weld every time. The rear aperature and the front sight ring will line up with one another, look through the hole, squeeze trigger. With a Ghost-ring, the rear is hardly visible, and they work fine, too.

Is there a way to remove the reciever cover release without permanently altering it to get it off the gun? Can I mount a tech sight and then remove the rear sight and mount a scout mount long eye-relief scope and see through the mount?
