Compact Problems...

I've got a Sig239 in .40 which I absolutely love but doesn't hold 10 and doesn't pack the punch of a 45. I've also got a Taurus PT145MP in .45 that is just as fine a weapon but the damn thing is DAO and that's just annoying. Here's my problem...

I want a pistol that is similar in size to the two above mentioned pistols. In .45 Caliber, capable of holding 10 rounds and DA/SA. For the life of me I can't find one. Any suggestions?

Good luck w/ that one.

Closest thing I can think of is a HK USP - 8 + 1 (in the chamber), if I remember correctly. Also, some smaller 1911s can do 8 round mags too - 8 + 1.

rgs1975:

Just my old fart opinion, but if you can't get the job done with a Sig P239 in 40cal you don't need a 10rd/45cal pistol, you need a 12ga. pump riot shotgun......:uhoh:

I have had a Sig P239 in 9mm for over ten years. It has been 100% reliable from day one with ANY ammo I chose to run thru it. It is VERY accurate, and I keep it well stocked with Cor-Bon's.

I cannot envision a situation where my P239 would not be adequate.

For me personally another advantage of the P239 is it's compact size, and ease of cc... I think you might find the Sig would be able to travel with you on occassions when a larger 45 could not.

FMOFO.

It doesn't hold ten but, it is a DA/SA and inexpensive as well.

I'm very happy with my 9mm Thunder UC.

My first thoughts were of the USPc 45, the Kahr 45 or a Officers or Commander sized Colt.

Taurus is supposed to be coming out with a 24/7-PRO "Compact" which seems to be the PT-145 with the new 24/7-PRO SA/DA trigger.

I like the 24/7-PRO in 9mm enough that I will buy the 24/7-PRO Compact if its priced reasonably in .40S&W or .45ACP.

I find it hard to believe that Glock is the only company that makes a Compact, 10rd, .45, DA/SA. If it's true it's rather dissapointing.

If U have a DA/SA Glock, then call the Guiness Book of World Records

USP compact is the closest U will get :)
