Bersa .380 and the others

For some reason I keep finding myself thinking about buying a Bersa Thunder .380 to add to my collection. I don't know, maybe its just the low price tag. I have never shot one before but I have shot a Walther PPK and Sig P232. How does the shooting experience of a Bersa compare to the Walther and Sig? Any difference at all?

I have, and it doesn't scratch my itch. I don't want to know who likes it and who doesn't, or even who has had mag troubles with their Bersa. What I want to know is how the shooting experience compares to say shooting the PPK and P232.
Its probably a stupid question. Its seems even more so when I consider how it would sound if someone asked me the same question regarding other pistols in 9mm, .40, or .45. I understand there's not a lot of variation within a caliber, but I thought someone might have some insight to share.

No such thing as a stupid question.

Just buy it, it's cheap! If you decide you don't like it or don't need it, you can always sell it or trade it at a gun show. You'll probably take a little loss on the deal, but hey, you'll have owned one at least.:D And, really, how much COULD you lose considering the price of the thing?

Accuracy is on par from 15 yards with my daughters Walther PPK~!:D
Reliable feeding, although a bit hard too load the magazine as it is a
bit rough on the ole' thumb. The Bersa DT Thunder .380 is a user
friendly firearm, a desireable piece, and part of my collection~!:D

Mr. Camp's website is a must read that compares Bersa with Makarov and Sig 230.

I'll admit to only having fired 2 PPK's, my Bersa .380 trigger beats them both by a good margin.

Bersa has better out of box trigger. PPK/S hurts my hand after 30 or so rounds Backstrap to narrow. Bersa no trouble. Accuracy about same at 10 yds
My PPK/S has better fit and finish is it worth 2 times the Bersa Only you can decide that.

For what it's worth I don't have the BT380, but I do have the Firestorm FS22 (same pistol, smaller caliber), and a BT/9/UC.. In the past I have owned a Walther PP (32cal.)
My FS22 has the same approximate "feel" for me as the Walther PP... The trigger is excellent, and reliablility has been 100% and accuracy is very, very good. I was so pleased with the FS22 I later bought the BT9/UC..
My BT9/UC is indeed as accurate as my Sig P239, and has always been 100%reliable*, a pleasure to shoot, and offers 13+1 capacity and it is ambi.....
Bersa/Firestorms are IMHO underpriced, underrated, and under the radar of most firearm buyers.. It's a shame because my two have been excellent pistols and I'll probably more Bersa/Firestorms in the future.

*Wally World White Box has caused problems in several of my 9's.. With any other ammo except wwwb the BT9/UC has been 100% reliable.

I can't compare. (sorry) I can say that I have never been so excited to shoot a new pistol as my Bersa Thunder .380. So far, it has met my expectations in every respect. I do much prefer the looks of the all nickel version.

I'd also go with the Bersa knowing you could always get rid of it later (though you won't).

The wife and I carry Thunder 380's. We even used them to re-qual for our CHL. Figured that if we were going to carry them, we might as well use them the way they were intended. I shot mine about a month ago, and I remembered why I like this little pistol so much.

When I bought mine four years ago the guy at the gunshop had the Bersa and the PPK sitting on the counter next to each other. I asked what the difference was and he said about $400. His comment was that they were selling the Bersa as fast as they could get them in. I bought one and am very satisfied. Not the best gun for a two hour range session, but comfortable enough to get good with, Very accurate and reliable.
