The early ones, product code 103790. Special production run of 560 in 1989. Wood stocks. Presumably had the old style hammer. Serial prefix BKF4xxx. Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson shows a value of $400 for NIB.
I guess you'd have said if it is the 637-1, wouldn't you? This was on the J Magnum frame, new thumb piece, frame mounted firing pin, MIM lockwork parts. Standard with Uncle Mike's Boot Grips. Intro 1996. Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson shows a value of $400 for NIB on this model, but mentions that retail was $525. Product code 103050.
Either way, NIB for 339 sounds pretty good.
Best,
Johnny

Sounds like one of the RSR guns. They had them on special at the SHOT Show this year for $289. I think that Backman has them for $329. S&W must have been flush with them and dumped a bunch of them cheap to generate some cash flow.

Here is a new 637 on Gunbroker for $299, shipping $25.00 and FFL fee would bring it up to about what you're looking at now. The upside is you will be saving the taxes you would pay at the dealer. Here in LA that would be about $30. Really not enough savings to go through the hassle of ordering and waiting for it to be shipped.
