She was startled by a noise inside a building while investigating a burglar alarm - stepped back, claimed to stumble as she drew her Glock, heard a soft pop sound, then the gun went off. A suspect on the other side of a garage door was hit in the leg by a 9mm round.
Of course I'm not blaming the Glock - after all they have that ultra safe trigger that makes the gun safe - what the 25-year-old officer's trigger finger was doing at the time is not reported. Suspect, er, aledged suspect was not seriously wounded - the bullet went through without hitting a pumping station...
What's my point? Nothing really. Poking a little fun at my Glockenschpeel buddies here... Noting that youngsters sometimes make youngster mistakes... Throwing some gas on the 9mm vs. .45 fires. <grin>
