Just heard the early news today (4pm), and the local shop had 6 handguns stolen. The OKC P.D. displayed some like pistols so the viewing audience could ID what was taken. Get THIS- 4 kimber .45's- 3 stainless and 1 black; and 2 S&W stainless revolvers- 1 460 and 1 500 :what: . NOW THE GOOD PART- the guy who stole the cannons is missing a hand and only has 3 fingers on the remaining claw.Musta got caught stealing before:rolleyes: . The news channel is going to do a complete story in a bit- story wasn't on their web page yet- I gotta see this. The shop, Outdoor America, has the service of any store I have EVER been to. You cannot even get someone to look at you when you want to buy something. That place has decent prices and a great selection, to be fair, but how in the heck did the guy even carry the stuff:confused:

Just watched the sur. video- this moron made TWO trips to get the stuff. Nobody in the store was even around the guy. And he is wearing SHORTS!!!!! I wonder how fast it'll take the ATF to feast on this guy and the store.

For punishment they ought to make him shoot that 500 S&W with his good talons :p

he shop, Outdoor America, has the s#i++ie$+ service of any store I have EVER been to.Then I can categorically and without reserve say that you've never been to GunWorld on Sunnylane.
Outdoor America Store is the best Gun Store for selection and price in the OKC Metro (quite possibly the whole state according to some folks I've talked to). The only store of all those in the Metro with better service is H&H (if you're into being waited on by snooty gun snobs that is - they're on your heels the minute you walk in) and their prices are enough higher to generally put them out of the picture for me.Hopefully the thief and the store will get what coming to them. Betcha that store wil get some eyes on it from some curious black suited men.I like OAS - they don't deserve to get hassled by the FEDS because some scum-bag ripped 'em off.
I certainly hope the BATMEN don't get real involved but I imagine if they do they won't find much wrong. OAS is really part of a distributor with warehouses in various places to include a really big one in Dallas. The owner's been in the gun business for a real, real long time. He knows what he's doing.
All this incident means is they'll pay more attention to loss prevention. The last time they did that they moved all the ammo behind the counters and off the shelves where you could just grab what you wanted and carry it to the check out counter yourself. Now a clerk carries it there for you.

Been to GunWorld, and have never been back- I'll give you that. WEREWOLF- I know you must have seen the video by now, but I can't find it on the KFOR web page-yet. Yes, Outdoor America does have a good selection and decent prices. just crappy counter awareness and even crappier service. The sales staff are great people, my brother-in-law ,Allen, worked there for years. Fred used to work for western electric and is a great guy, he just has built his business beyond his support staff. I still go there, but have left after I waited for help~ not having helped myself like that moron did.

I saw this story on Channel 4 tonight too. Been to Outdoor America many times, bought many guns from them. They USED to have a lot of sales clerks. The last time I was there, they did not have that many. Cutbacks I supose. Usually a great place to shop. This is also known as the store where the local police get a lot of their gear as well.
I'm quite sure that the thief will get caught soon.

Azrael256 Hehehe... Dionysusigma, wake up!
What??? I've been at school, I swear!
Besides, I've never really wanted anything from that corner of the store, save for a Sig P220... :uhoh:

Um... the whole time I worked there, I never once got the impression that it was more than its own entity. :scrutiny:
The shop, Outdoor America, has the (worst) service of any store I have EVER been to.
That's because they get the worst customers you'll ever see. ;)
They USED to have a lot of sales clerks. The last time I was there, they did not have that many. Cutbacks, I suppose.
Main influence from that was Bass Pro and Sportsman's Warehouse. Look what it did to SouthWest Shooter's. :(

Hm. My experience with Outdoor America was a very good one: I was a total gun noob looking for a shiny new pistol and "high capacity magazines", due to the fact that some knob, somewhere, said that I couldn't have one, and that was good enough reason for me to go get one (and some).
They set me up with all the basics, but nothing more than I needed, spent the time to give me the quick-and-dirty regarding the new firearm and how to maintain it, etc. Looking back, and comparing their store to some of the "gun stores" here, they actually had quite a nice selection of essential consumables (read: not just rows and rows of holsters). Fond memories.
This was, however, more than five years ago.
Do you have a link to the video?

Been there many times, done a lot of business there.
They do have a wide selection, no problem there. And the people working there are pretty good overall, I've not known of them pushing anyone to buy stuff without need and they are knowledgeable. But if there's more than a few customers in, you cay wait bloody forever before you can get help with anything. I've wound up leaving more than once because I ran out of time.

My experience with Outdoor America was very good. The selection is good and I rather like the layout of the store.
The only thing I didn't like was that gigantic bearded Irishman who worked there. He kept showing up at my place like he lived there or something. In his defense, he did tolerate my wacky Bulgarian girlfriend.
IME, their "service problem" comes from a lack of staff. Staff, and parking, too. It was not uncommon to find a hundred people milling around the store looking for help at any given time. I recall hearing "hang on dude, I'll help you find that holster/ammo/accessory as soon as I get a paperwork check on these three simultaneous sales I'm doing" on several occasions. They could do with about ten more people behind the counter.
