Kimber Custom II Stainless
Great Scot

I saw one of these at a local shop and I was hoping to get a little information from folks. Are Kimbers reliable? I have heard some conflicting reports lately. Does the full length guide rod make these guns difficult to field strip? The same shop has a Springfield Armory mil-spec for $150 less. I realize they're not in exactly the same category, but is the Kimber worth the extra money? Thanks for the help.

There is great value in a gun like the Kimber II or even the SA Mil Spec. The Kimber comes w/ a few mods that would cost far more than $150 if you put them on the SA...maybe it would depend if you have the need for those mods...do ya???
Both are nice guns and will start you on your way to getting addicted to the 1911
