It's clearly a nice gun - haven't had a chance to shoot it yet - perhaps tomorrow.
Update: Cleaned it (Taurus sure puts lots of oil in them) oiled it (appropriately) and this morning shot it a little.
I'm used to shooting .40s, so the recoil was well within what I expected - perhaps a little less. Accuracy looks good, but only had a little time between working pastures - my target was an unfortunate clump of weeds on a hillside - that clump of weeds won't be bothering anyone anytime soon.
Size-wise, it's right in there with a PT 24/7, a 3.5" Springfield 1911 and my HK USPc .40. For me that's an excellent 'carry' gun. It's an all-metal frame, but still light enough to carry comfortably. My HK is lighter, but not by much - and once they are loaded, the weight of ammo outweighs the weight difference of the guns.
Controls are, well, Sig-like. Ambi Safety/Decocker, 1911-style slide lock/release.
Takedown is a delight - push a button on the right side of the frame to release a rotating cam on the left - rotate the cam down, pull the slide off the front. Easier than any other gun I own.
PT940-specific holsters are thin on the ground; but my yaqui belt slide for my HK and 24/7 also handles the 940 perfectly. And as it happens, my 24/7 COP high-ride accepts the PT 940 almost like it was made for it - in fact the profiles of the two guns are closely similiar in the areas where they sit in a holster.
Bottom line: pay no attention to my review - I *like* this gun, haven't put more than a magazine of ammo through it, and it still has that 'new gun' smell. Check back with me in a month or so.:)
