I just wanted to mention that of all the guns I have (quite a few) I LOVE these Kahr pistols.
The P9 & P45

BOTH feel really nice in the hand and are a dream to shoot. Not a single failure as of yet.

Pictures to show size difference in the two.

Hope you like.

Thanks. I'm a big fan of my PM9 for pocket carry and considering a P45 upgrade. The specs look like it might be a bit bulky for a pocket but specs are often a bit misleading. Can';t seem to find one locally to try out. Any thoughts on suitability of the 45 for that mode? I'm a large chap and tend to wear Dockers type pants with pleated fronts which have large pockets so hoping this might be an option.

Thanks for the pics i have two also ( p9 and pm9 ) its refreshing to see a post from a happy kahr owner since imho they arnt for everyone and many wont properly grip them then blame the malf's on the gun .

The P9 kicks ass. I messed with a PM9 and liked it in a way but got rid of it. I didn't like it because the "shootability" wasn't there with it like a pistol with a longer grip. Some people shrug and say, "It's meant to be carried and not shot". I say, "B.S.". It's convenient to carry, yes, but I want to be able to shoot it well if I needed to use it. Hence, bye-bye PM9 and hello P9 in a Comp-Tac C-tac. GREAT combination.

Well, both are a little large for a pocket gun for me personally. I would definately think the P45 would be a little large for pocket action.

Personally I have carried a SEECAMP in my front pocket every day for the last 13 years. If I forget it, I have to leave work, go home and get it. You get used to something like that and feel lost without it. I think that should be a goal of any concealed piece. To be comfortable living with it every day.

I think I will carry the P9 more when I have a jacket on or loose clothing.
Mainly I wanted to share my enthusiasim about the Kahr pistol

My P9 Covert is the most-carried of my handguns.

It compares favorably to a J-frame in size (sorry about the poor focus on the second photo) and capacity, and downright clobbers it in speed of reloads.

I load it with Winchester +P+ 127-gr RA9TA Ranger hollow-points - they come out the front at an average 1267 fps - not shabby for a gun that I can conceal in any of my modes of dress.

It's a keeper!

If you like the P9, I think you'd love the TP9. It's longer barrel provides a bit of extra velocity, and gives the gun a more balanced feel. Here's my review of my TP9.

P9 Covert= best balance of weight, size, shootability and moderate recoil of any CC pistol I have ever tried. Any design that beats it in one or two of those fields will lose in the remaining fields, and none even match it in all of them. short butt for when you need it, long grip for your reload or for less demanding concealment.

I'm not sure why I can't edit my post, but the URL for my review got mangled. Here's the new link.

Maybe cause it's over 5 years old?

I know most like a small compact gun for daily carry but I like the little extra barrel length that the TP-9 provides, along with my two backups!

I agree. I love my PM9 so much that I'm now considering a PM45. The PM9's combination of ease of shooting, accuracy and concealability is hard to beat. I think Kahr has the single stack pistol market pretty well cornered right now.

I have been thinking about the PM9 for quite some time now. The PM45 is intriguing. What's the capacity on the 45? If I had to sacrifice round count for size I would definitely want a bigger pill. I might be going from my g27 to a PM45. Just for a change. A little spice. :D

Hey Smoke...Don't rule out the PM-40 either. It too, packs an effective round in a very compact package.

RDF- I thought about the forty also but with the forty being so snappy wouldn't it be a tough shooter? I shoot forty in all my guns. That's what I own. The g27 is a bit difficult to shoot that's why I was thinking of a different CC gun. I can shoot the gun well but follow up shots take too much time for my taste. I like the fourty five because its more of a heavy recoil and not quite as snappy/jumpy. What is your thoughts?
