help me date this,can any one?No camera otions available.
It has a tube magazine,.22 cal.s-l-lr barrel is tapped for sights long gone,
a off axis scope mount and scope aso'
Grand dad keep it for sharks on his boats.

I have a Mossberg 46m(a) that was my dad's and his father's before that. I learned to shoot on this rifle 30 years ago. Hard to date them exactly since for a period of years between 1930 and 1968, Mossberg did not put serial numbers on their long guns.

Here's a little history

Model 46M Bolt action repeater
22 lr,l,s; tubular magazine, 15(lr), 18(l), 22(s).
23" barrel. Weight 7 lbs.
Two piece Mannlicher stock with cheekpiece and pistol grip, swivels.
No. S106 ramp front sight, No. 4 receiver sight. Made 1940 - 1945.

Model 46M(a) S100 sight replaces No. 4, made 1945-1947.

Model 46M(b) S130 sight replaces S100, made 1947-1952.
