C&R Question (Moving)

Guys and gals, I'm seriously considering getting my C&R license. However, I have a question. We will probably be moving in the next year (within the same town) and the move could come at anytime during that year.
If I get one now, how difficult is it to change addresses. Would I be better served waiting a year before I make the leap.
Thanks,
Stinger

When you move, you need to fill out ATF Form 5300.38 (Application for an Amended FFL) and they will send you a license with your new address on it.

It took me a year of montly phone calls and faxes to get my new address ffl. I am sure this is atypical though.

On the other extreme, I faxed my change of address info for my C&R FFL to the NLC on a Thursday, and had the new one in my mailbox the next Friday.

My experience was much like Scotts. About two weeks or so. I sent the stuff off as soon as we closed on the house.
