I thinking about picking up an 870 again, but I'm not sure if I want the express or Police. I have only had express's in the past and all of them would rust somewhat and I do keep my firearms very clean and oiled. I have very sweaty hands(might be too much info for you guys) and I think that it might be the cause of this. Anyway, I was thinking maybe I should just buy an 870 express for 275 the standard 5 shot model, and paint it a flat black or maybe that black stone finish type paint and buy a surefire foreend for it. Or just go all out and buy a police for 500 with the parkerized finish and forget about the surefire. This is just gonna be a joe shmoe shotgun with no extention, but maybe the light. My limit is 500 in price so the police would max it out. What would you guys do?
Buy express, not paint add light
buy express, paint, add light
buy express, nothing else
get police, nothing else

If you're really fraught about rust, you could get the marine magnum. I got a police for around 340, no extension. No rust, either; it seems a pretty tough finish. If you can get a deal on one, you'll like it, I'm sure.

You might want to buy a used police gun for around 155.00 or so and send it to ARS (http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/) for a 200.00 coating. I am hoping to send one there soon as I have heard excellent things about them.
