Not sure if this is the right place, but there might be some 9mm shooters here.
Hello. I suggest not buying this ammunition. I bought a case of it about 2 years ago and the stuff was phenomenally accurate for the low price. That was soon gone and I couldn't find it "right" for quite a time. Recently, I bought another case, Lot # 98/10/70, and immediately noticed that while still 115 gr FMJ, the bullet shape was different. The old stuff, while not "hot," averaged around 1120 ft/sec from a Hi Power and CZ-75. The new stuff is even "cooler," not breaking 1100 ft/sec.
The main thing I find annoying is that it does not group well at all for me. I noticed this the other day when wringing out a Glock 26 for a range report. The Glock did "OK" with it, but in some other guns, such was not the case. I tried some out in a known Browning Hi Power and results were fair. Today, I tried some more in a Star Model 28 that normally groups well. Firing from 15 yards at 3" targets, two to three of a 5-shot string would be in the area of a nickle, but then there would be flyers 6" from the group. Put in some Winchester USA ball and put 2 five-shot strings into about a quarter-sized hole.
I did "pull" some of it and that's not the problem; I know when I mess up and don't blame the ammo for operator error, but the vast majority of the "wild shots" felt good.
Everytime I'd substitute Winchester for the PMP, groups were "right."
Tried some MagTech 115 gr ball as well. It didn't group so well as the Winchester, but it grouped; no flyers. 5-shot groups in the 2" range. PMP ammo and the flyers.
I go through ammunition pretty quickly so this won't last long, but for any 9mm shooters looking for cheap factory range ammo, I'd pass on the current PMP unless you KNOW it shoots in your pistol.
I'll try it in some other pistols to see if it works better with any of them, but won't be buying more.
Hope this is of use.
