SIG P239 Question

I am new SIG P239 owner and I have a Question:

How do you get the bobbed hammer to fully 'rest' at any time?

I seems the hammer is 1/2 cocked all of the time... beofre & after chambering, after de-cocking, always.

Is this Normal?

Am I missing something or doing something wrong, or is this just the way it works?

I have seen lots of pics of the SIG with the hammer fully at rest (flush with the back of the slide) and at the 1/2 cocked position (with a 1/4" space between the hammer and the firing pin).

Any help is Greatly Appreciated!

I'm another new member to the P239 club - picked up my new (used) 9mm model last week.

I believe the 1/2 cocked look you are talking about is normal, and that the pictures you saw with the hammer at 'full rest' were those of a DAK model.

As a newbie with it, I hope some more seasoned people come around and either confirm or refute my comment.

That's normal, keeps it away from the firing pin.

All current SIGs have that rebounding hammer that never fully rests. Its normal.

Its normal, and if your hammer ever does rest against the firing pin, you've got a broken part (this happened to me once with a Sig).

You guy's (or gal's) that have the new SIG 239 SAS, how do you like 'em?

We have one NIB, in the showcase in .40 S&W; but I just can't warm up
to it~!:uhoh: It's a pretty thing, with the stainless slide, SAS, and SIG's
new wooden logo grips; also with a "melted look".

Ya know Dan, I have handled several but just don't see how they are better then my "normal" 239 in .40. The P239 already came pretty well melted with bobbed hammer etc. Now if they had made it in 9mm maybe......just maybe.

As for the P239 in general, I love it. Conceals well. Shoots like a full size and fits my little girly hands marvelously. :D

The 239 SAS is the first SIG that has caught my eye. I think if the Ministress of Finance can work it out that might be one of the future purchases I make. I really like the DAK trigger idea, it goes with my revolver mentality
