Anyone have any experience with this device? It has two ceramic rods (medium & fine) that are held vertically, one at a time, and two angled guides that you run up & down the rods to get the bevel & edge. Looks pretty simple and easy. I currently have a Lansky that does a good job, but I'm always upo for something faster & easier (ceteris paribus).

I'm retracting that. I didn't answer your question.

I have a Lansky also and it is much better than the ceramic "X" rods. The ceramic rods might be OK for honing between real sharpening but I didn't think it did much for sharpening a dull blade. If you want something really fast, get a tormek sharpener. But then, as with many things, it is "good, fast, cheap......pick any two". If you get two of them, you won't get the third.
