Gun Purchase Question

Hello All,

I have a question regarding the purchasing of a firearm. I live in Alabama and a guy I know, who lives in Georgia, wants to sell me a rifle. I would have to go to Georgia to purchase it from him, and Bring it back. Is there any law that prohibits such activity?

Firearm transfers that occur between residents of different states are required by federal law to go through a FFL.

Doesn't matter whether you do it at a Georgian FFL with the guy, or he ships it to a FFL in your state. Just pay the fee, and keep yourself legal.
