I never thought id have a gun feel as good in my hand as my CQB, but damn, this one does.Hell, it even fits most of my holsters for my 1911:D Very, very pleased!

I own one and love it. Solid, smooth, on aim, and fun to shoot. I would recomend it to anyone. I also have a PT92, great gun for the money. Taurus has some nice guns.

That's a lot of bull. :D
They are nice slim 45's aren't they? I got mine back in '95 (pre-lock) and have a few thousand rounds through it with nary a hiccup. Trigger is different than the 1911's (obviously), not as crisp as a true SA. Shoots to POA. Mine points naturally in my hand. Been waiting for something to break or go wrong due to the old "It's a Taurus piece of junk" I keep reading about... but so far (11 years and counting) it just keeps going blam blam blam. Cost me $329 back then (kinda expensive) but I guess that works out to about $30 a year. They haven't appreciated much in value I gather as I see them on GunsAmerica from $345 on up.
A true sleeper in a Commander sized .45. Kinda like my S&W 457, but this one's got the safety in the right spot doing the right thing.
You gonna give it back when your .45 comes back home, or make him an offer on a lowly, used, Brazilian alloy framed wannabe? ;)

My PT940 is quickly becoming one of my favorites - and my collection is thinned down to only what I really like.
About the only thing I can find to complain about in the PT9XX is the way the safety levers stand out away from the slide. At first I thought it would catch on my clothing, but I've carried it quite a bit and never had a problem.
I've also encountered the dismissive attitude toward Taurus - a firearms guru friend heard I was buying a Taurus and laughed in disbelief. I was suprised by his reaction, then remembered that he hasn't kept up with firearms as a hobby. What may have been true twenty five years ago is not true now. Consider the Korean Hyundai. Initial models sold in the US market were pitiful. Now they may be the best bang-for-buck of the imports.

I agree with those who say the Taurus autos are great guns. Very underrated, but that's fine, it keeps the prices down to where more of us can afford them.
I've long loved the PT9XX series. I would love to add a PT911 or PT940 to my stable of guns. My only complaint, I should have done it earlier. The older PT9XX series are great looking guns. It seems that Taurus has gone the way of just about everyone else and tacked on an accessory rail to all their autos. I think it looks pretty bad on the Taurus alloy autos and I haven't seen one in the past 6 months that did not have it. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to look on the used market.
Definately keep us updated on that PT945.

I love my Taurus handguns and I love my 2004 Hyundai Sonata. Over 48K miles in almost 2 years (it will be 2 years old in about a week). Its been mostly reliable (one minor issue that came back after the first repair) and it is very comfortable. Best $15K I ever spent (a Honda Civic, much smaller and more basic, would have run $15-16K, the comparable Accord would have been $20K).

Second range trip, still shoots great.Rides nice in my summer special and my don hume IWBs. And the fact that I can carry it cocked and locked is a great thing to me. makes me feel like I still have a 1911 at my side. Cant wait to get my 1911 back, but i just might have to buy this gun off of him.....now if only it were a 10mm......
