If you cannot find the serial number on it, it is safe to say that your Stevens Boltaction shotgun is over 38 + years old. Because of the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA 68) required all firearms after the act was law:barf: have a serial number. Before then most low priced shotguns and .22 rifles did not have serial numbers and were thought of as tools (as in farming) for pest control and not weapons of mass destruction.

I have a Stevens model 22/410, it has no serial number(made in 1953). As kjeff50cal said, if made before '68 no serial #.
