Serial Number: 66299xx. When was it produced?

Nice M1 Carbine. According to The M1 Carbine Owner's Guide by Ruth & Duff, your rifle was made in 1945.

In this day and age of all the Black Guns with all their bells and whistles, I still think the little Carbine is camp among champs. Heck, it's a whole lot more fun to shoot too.

Pretty light, hey. That is why I like to pick mine up more often than some big clunky bolt with a scope.
