Greetings Folks,
Last week I posted a note letting you know that the Long Awaited Valtro Hard-Chrome photos were posted. I indicated at that time that I had 3 more sets of Valtro / Jardine's Custom photos that I'd be posting and said I'd post a new set each week.
Well as promised the latest set is now posted over on ValtroUSA.com !
This time (by popular request) I have posted the photography done of the Full House Jardine's Custom Two Tone (http://www.valtrousa.com/handgunsspecial.html) . This was the really special pistol that John brought to the SHOT Show that got so many people's attention.
I belive that Sven has also seen this handgun and posted some photography of his own on it.
In any event there are 12 new photos of it available online for you now! To the right of each thumbnail are three sizes you can choose from. I rather expect some of these to become wallpaper on your systems soon ;)
I'll post another set next week... I have another hard Chrome set and a blued set... any preferences as to which I post first?
In any case ENJOY! :D

Does the other side still have that ghastly 1998 rollmark?

I have been trying to decide if I want to get full hard chrome or go two tone.
I assume the black is "blue"? Or is it one of those wonder coatings?
I really like the two tone, I guess I could just get the slide re blued every couple of years...?
My other idea was to go all chrome and then have the slide coated with Boron Carbide to make it kind of a medium to dark grey....
Nice pics Sven.

Is the black blue?
Grasshopper, you mus contemplate and meditate on this question to find enlightenment!- Is the Black Blue...Gosh that sounds like some sort of new question for a philosophy class.
Well in truth the 'black' as seen in the photos IS blued steel. I was talking with John at his shop a feww weeks back and if I understood him correctly one of the toughest things he can do (and somehting he has done for some 'interesting' customers, is to hard chrom the thing and then put on what you described as one of those black 'wonder coatings'.

Now that the roll mark is done in a tasteful, Italian, tradition, I have to get one. Can they come with fixed night sights zeroed in at a spec distance with a spec load?

Were the fine looking pistol and the background photographed at the same time?

I am not gonna say this dogmatically but I believe that they were indeed photographed at the same time. John got a very good photographer to do these pictures and I am assuming they are not digitally altered but by me... and then only for size.

I agree about the rollmark. You guys should do all the new Valtro's with the smaller mark. The other one was...not so appealing.

Boats,
Check with Jardine first.. remember the firearm pictured above is a full on custom work... The stock Valtros and the rollmark have been a point of lots of discussion with John, (I'll admit it is my least favorite thing too). The bottom line for me however is not how dainty or disgusting the weapon looks, but instead whether it puts copper clad metal in the little round part of the paper...
Again though check with John to see what the current status is for the vanilla pistols.

Wow, she sho looks purty!
Maybe John Jardine will have time away from his Valtro venture to work on a custom 1911 for me... :D

For the price those things go for, I'd disagree. You don't have to look hard for a ~$1,500 gun that performs AND doesn't have huge ugly stampings all over it. That rollmark is probably costing them business.
The small rollmark on the customized two-tone is the one they should have had all along.
