Hi, just installed a 4LB Glock Striker Spring in my P99. The DA pull is so damn light, it is under 5 lb for sure. The SA is a littly mushy but very light. I will shoot my P99s tonight and make a comparison.

Why would you give up the crispness of the stock SA for a better DA pull that is only used once?

Thats what im wondering....
if you wanted a glock DA pull, get a glock. The 99's series triggers were designed for an exacting reason. And then after that you are free to shoot all you want. Id like tad higher break in the trigger, with maybe a tad softer SA pull but a few more hundred rounds should loosen it up a tad.
Actualy i dont think ive fired my 99 uncocked but a few times. Need to train with it uncocked a little more tho to really follow how id carry it.

IMO, NOT a good idea but then, it's your pistol. :uhoh:

I like my P99 9mm trigger/pull just fine, as it came (well, also after 1000+ rounds).
Just needed to work at the DA/SA.

I have two P99s; a 9mm and a .40, both with the traditional DA/SA triggers. Now that I have a few hundred rounds through each one, I like the triggers "as is".
For the sake of discussion, I wonder what a 4# striker spring would make the P99 "QA" trigger feel like?

Just my uneducated guess, BUT...
I'd guess that Musky probably didn't KNOW it was going to make his SA mushy, he was PROBABLY trying to make the DA first shot better... Not uncommon, not unreasonable. Some guys like to leave their stuff bone stock, some guys like to tinker "just to see".
Too bad the improved DA funkled with the SA.
Thanks for taking the time to let us know, Musky!

I bet it would make one of the P990's a lot more tolerable too!

i heard soem postings about this on the walther forum and wanted to see what happens to the trigger pull. Hey, if i dont like it, i will switch back to the factory trigger. I dont think its that big of a deal.

I've run about 1300 rounds through my 9 mm P99 and, maybe I'm alone here, but my trigger still has a little "grind" late in the pull. Maybe I'm pushing the trigger to the side too hard but I'm hitting what I aim at.
Has anyone here had a trigger job done just to smooth out the action?
