Dilemma

Dilemma is-- I have a couple of Makarovs (EG&BUL) with extras (ammo, mags, grips, holsters, EG mainsprings and Wolff 19lb recoil springs) as hard as I try, I just can't "warm up" to the Mak's. The EG is near perfect, while every now and then the Bulgie (near perfect finish) slide stop won't hold open. I am very seriously considering taking them to a show this weekend and trying to trade them to a Glock 20, 22, or 19 if I can. Should I trade them or keep them, even though I particularly don't care for them?

Your personal reasons for owning firearms will be needed to make this decision.

Me:
Trade them, unless they are expected to appreciate in value enough to give you a higher rate of return on your investment than the historical stock market. :) I've had this same dilemma with my XD, and have decided that it's going this weekend.

There are those who advocate never selling a gun, but odds are that if you don't like it, you won't shoot it. I see no the point in that, but some do.

There are those who enjoy shooting and owning a lot of different guns. There are those who just want to collect, even though they may not shoot them that often; more power to them.

Certainly my Glock will outlast me, and I find that satisfactory. I MAY purchase a .45ACP at some point for carry, but that would be strictly utilitarian.

Of course, one still needs numerous .22's for plinking.

How much are you looking for the Maks each?

I'm in the market to buy.

Unless there is some personal value placed on them (I'de never sell the guns my father left to me), they are just a tool.

So what if everyone is singing praises to the MAK? If it's not for you, so be it. Trade/sell them and get something that will give you satisfaction.
