In the waistband...kind of...

I carry an SP101 in a Desantis Thumb Break Scabbard holster.I'm also fat.With constant wear and doing alot sitting the holster has streched a little and doesn't hold the gun as close as I want it too anymore.Still concealed but a little "loose".
Yesterday I tried a different method.I put the holster BEHIND my belt.It's kind of like IWB,but not.It's way closer to my body and feels more confortable.Reholstering is just as easy as bfore.Am I on to something??Does anyone else do this??Am I hurting my holster and should I just but a IWB???:(

You can wear an IWB between your belt and pants, rather than inside your pants, as long as you wear a shirt or vest long enought to conceal it.

I carry that way most of the time because my wife (and I) detest the way oversized pants look on me. :D

Back when I was still skinny, I always threaded the belt on the outside of a pancake holster. That kept the Python's grips tight against my ribs. Now that I'm 30 pounds heavier, I carry my Smith 340 in a pocket holster, IWB, or Renegade ankle holster,

I carry my S&W 640 .357 in an Uncle Mike's IWB that way when I have an outer garment to cover it. I think it is an ideal way to carry, snugged up nice and close and easy to draw. Best, Mike

The only problem is that my belt-slide holster straddles a belt loop, which I have to skip with the belt-over method.

It still works, though.

I carry my j-frame and my P7 the same way depending on how tight my pants are...BPB i(between belt and pants) is not a new concept...my dad carried his DS witht th NYPD like that since 1960. Matt delfatti even makes a BPB but I find an IWB works just as well and is more versatile since a BPB design can't go inside your pants...
