I did a little practicing as the sun went down tonight using the Insight X2 light I recently installed on my PT145. The X2 puts out decent light for its size and the fact that it runs on a 3V CR2 photo battery, but it looks more like a 2AA maglite than some of the flashlights I use. Anyone ever installed a brighter xenon bulb, or even an LED? I don't know what kind of bulb it takes, if no one has attempted this I might be the first and will have to remove and identify the bulb.
It did work well, though. The switch is in an akward location, I wanted to get some practice drawing, turning it on, "identifying" my B34 target, firing, and turning it off. COM shots were no problem at 25 feet after quickly identifying the target. It is pretty bright at this range but could still be brighter.
