View Full Version : What color plastic pistol would you carry?

OK, suppose the folks at Kel Tec went wild and started making any color pistol you could imagine. Suppose Glock got into the act and came out with zebra stripes. If you could have any color plastic gun you wanted what would it be? My own choice would be either hunter orange or fire engine red for visibility.

I'll go the Henry Ford way...
Any color as long as it is Black...

I'd stick with earth tones, nothing flashy.

Now that I think about it, a tan-ish color wouldn't be too off the wall. As long as the slide were still black.

Well if we could get the camoflage finish like DSA does on their FALs, I wouldn't mind an urban camo finish.

it'd get the pistol done up in a denim looking pattern, to blend in with my jeans.

hmm, I was thinking more on the order of black background with custom ordered flourescent lettering.
Generic would be something like "THIS IS REAL YOU DUMB :cuss: "
other possibilities would be:
"I'll see your bid and raise you a .45"
or
"I only use hollowpoints"
or
"You want how many holes in that?"
or
well, you get the idea!

I know my girlfriend would want a pink pistol. It may even motivate her to be a little more into guns. I'll bet it would have a great affect on bringing more women into the sport.
As far as me, I prefer black, or maybe a grey/black 2-tone

2 thoughts come to mind.

#2) Low gloss black with the Batman emblem on the grips. :neener:

I'll take mine in liturgical purple, please... you see, purple is the color for the penitential seasons, and anyone doing something bad enough to make me draw my gun will probably end up doing some SERIOUS repenting!

Great.
Schuey comes in and says 'Skunk stealth black'
Jesse H comes in and says 'carbon fiber'.
Someone already covered urban camo and clear.

Basic black is best as it is very stylish and goes with everything. If I had to choose though I would like a grey pinstripe!:D
What can I say, I am very conservative when it comes to fashion!;)

I would like dark blue.
My only worry would be that if you had a brightly colored gun and had to draw on someone, they may think it is a toy and force you to pull the trigger.
I think in CA at least, you cannot have a real gun in bright orange or bright green. Also, guns have to look like guns - maybe for a range or game gun, but it could complicate your day in court to have some pokemon motif on your pistol when you shoot someone....

I'd say...dark gray, VERY VERY dark gray...
Either that or something metallic. A nice, dark, metallic blue.:D

Elmer beat me to it. I think a see-through pistol would be really cool. Otherwise...uh, I'm ok with the current color selection. I've never really felt the need for an odd colored gun. A smokey grey like the color of my Oakley lenses would be kinda cool.

Charles Daly already has the yellow, olive and fuscia covered. Although discontinued, they can still be found.
I am going for the Fuscia one myself.

Bob--
My wife HAS a P32 the "fuschia" color (long since discontinued) of that Charles Daly DDA.
Some links to P32 color options, both real... http://www.geocities.com/pocketguns/p32grips.html
Andrew wyatt, Darrin--that medium blue was originally done to correspond to new denim.
...and "what if":

Desert Camo's about the coolest "what if", IMO.

I hate plastic but I see the use for it on some guns to reduce weight. Other than the standard black and maybe olive drab, the only color that would look like tacky garbage would be a clear plastic with a clear mag, like in Romeo and Juliet.
